#3 - ‘Natural Beauty’, Es Trenc, the Med, Platja d’es Trenc, Campos, Majorca

Recommended to us by the girl behind the desk in the car hire place as she scribbled all over a map of the island, this was one of the most interesting places...

Es Trenc (translated as the 'ravine') is the largest unspoilt beach on the island, 10 km worth of white sandy beach backed by sand dunes and not a building in sight. It's labelled a 'Natural Area of Special Interest'...our National Trust effectively.

It felt wild. It was windy. And although there were plenty of other people, lined up neatly in one single row along the waters edge, it was difficult to hear others nearby and therefore felt really secluded and mysterious. I didn't know this until I read about it later, but it's apparently the most popular on the island amongst naturists and the LGBT community.

We stopped here on the way back from Palma. It was so worth it. Easy to change out in the open as it simply felt like no one was the least but interested in anyone else around. It was great. Waves crashing and a strange and varied surface below.

I wish we'd spent the day...
