#2 - ‘All is Forgiven’ @ Fell Foot, Windermere, The Lake District

With original plans scuppered, and to cut a long story short, we ended up back at Fell Foot. One of our first ever cold water swims took place here. And we discounted ever returning that day. It had felt like a port. But free NT parking, toilets and a whole host of other conveniences left us with no real alternative. Thank goodness. Because it was a great swim in the end. Fairly quiet by the time we got there. Barely any traffic on the water and a very shallow and gradual beach entry.

#1 - ‘Ditching the Wetsuit’ @ Stickle Tarn, Harrison Stickle, Langdale, The Lake District

This was our welcome back to British water...and what a welcome it was! It's May. So there's no way a wetsuit can be justified. We were thankful actually. Less to carry up Dungeon Ghyll (and less 'soaking wet heavy' stuff to carry back down more to the point) and it was pretty steep. I likened it to Hellvellyn on the way up. One of my more grumpy moments. 1500 ft of stone steps though...
