#2 - ‘What’s all the Foss About?’ @ Janet’s Foss

Janet's Foss, Skipton, Malhamdale

The waterfall that seems to get all the attention - Janet's Foss. Named after the reputable queen of the fairies that lived in its cave. And despite the mass of spectators...it was a pretty magical setting to be fair.

The water was clear and pretty shallow. Rocky on the way in but easily accessible from different points. There were three other swimmers but the lot of us were in and out (it was pretty cold) so we didn't disturb each other.

It was just so compact, simple and beautiful. Freezing but totally worth the sting.

The Lister Arms is only a stone's throw away too, and it would have been rude not to have stopped by. What's not to love about a Sunday (Roast) in the Yorkshire Dales, nestled in by a roaring open fire amongst ramblers and their dogs whilst your skin still secretly burns away under the layers from an ice cold winter swim?
