#6 - ‘Taking Turns’ @ Stanley Ghyll, Easdale, The Lake District

If you're scared of heights give it a miss. Steep is an understatement. But they're making the most of the depth with the 'viewing' platform which adds a bit of something extra - we were brave.

It was mossy, wet and cold. It was actually quite miserable. And completely covered overhead in places throwing even more shade.

It seems like they're fighting a constant battle to make the place safe for visitors and the landscape is being really stubborn. Red tape and warning signs all over.

It took a long while to find somewhere remotely safe to dip. When we did the path was so narrow that we needed to change in separate spots set back from the fall. It was rocky and really slippy underfoot. By the time we had found a secure footing there were others waiting to get in so time was limited.

I'd say right now it's the perfect spot for a creepy walk. Not the best for a swim.
